Question 308.
Two guns are pointed at each other one upwards at an angle of elevation of 30° and the other at the same angle of depression, the muzzles being 30 metres apart. If the charges leaves the guns with velocities of 350 m/s and 300m/s resp. Find when they will meet.
Answer 308.
Give the same upward acceleration equal to the acceleration due to gravity to both the charges which will not change their relative motion.
They have to cover the distance of 30 m moving towards each other with the relative speed of
350 + 300 = 650 m/s
=> they will meet in time
= 30/650 seconds
= 0.046 seconds.
